After seeing Popa Chubby's debut OKeh release, "Booty and the Beast," I thought, oh boy, here comes another wasted moment. I mean, where does a middle-class white boy named Ted Horowitz (a.k.a. Popa Chubby) get off singing the blues!@#* How pain filled, hard, desperate and trying could his life be?

Obviously, if that criteria apply, Popa Chubby's life has been just as difficult as the influences he pays tribute to on this CD. And this CD is a collection must.

The fifteen-song CD pays homage to the likes of Hendrix, Led Zepplin, and the Stones, who took their influences from earlier guys like Freddie King, Albert King, Willie Dixon, and Buddy Guy.

Popa Chubby, and by the way, I love this name, has carved himself a niche as a singer-songwriter-guitar player, and I hope to hear more from him in the future.
