"I'd have to describe us as a 120 mile per hour thrill ride! I'm all over the stage. I'm steppin' on stuff and it's
really 'fight or flight' and most of the time I stay there and fight! You know?"
This from the mouth of one Big Al Staggs, vocalist for the local favs Left Wing Fascists, known for
their brand of sarcastic rock n roll, with songs like "I Drive A Yugo," the K-Mart shopper song off
their first album, "Mother's Worst Nightmare." Now with "All Fired Up" the Fascists are still kicking
with "Beer Gut," "Little Itch," and my favorite, "No One's Ugly After 2am."
As Big Al says, "I'm not going to write about all this sad stuff, rape, AIDS, and all that. I want to
write about drinking beer and chasing women!"
But the Fascists aren't all comedy or sarcasm. With "The World Goes Round," Big Al describes
a situation all too many people can relate too. "Look at the bills, they keep piling up/Choosing
which one to pay is getting tough/Do I want the power on or should I eatÉ"
One other notable: this CD was produced by local guru Stacy Heydon (if you don't know who
he is, oh well) at the Daily Planet.
