This intercommunal sound service mixes a mass of musical endeavors through visions of hip hop,
acid jazz, dental office notes, and world afropop. The Digables are coming off their successful
"Reachin': A New Refutation of Time and Space," and Ladybug, Doodlebug and Butterfly are
serving up a stew of peaceniks for the black community and anyone else who wants to goin this
sedated sounding groovement.
This streetlife influence makes social stabs in colors of green, white and black, colors of skin and
the cheeba. "Jettin" is the perfect example of the intuned musical mix that the Digables are capable
of, combining the social impressions without blowing out massive raps and dense bass
lines. But "Blowout Comb" still thumps.
"Blowout Comb" offers the listener a groove of record crackles, Seventies primetime television
jingles and a slick mix.
