For some reason, I've always confused this band with "Empire," a Queensryche cover band. Why, I don't know. They certainly are NOT a cover band.

From the opening track, "Hiss," through my fav, "The Chihuahuaphile," (you figure it out), these guys don't let up an inch!

Vaughn Stevenson spits out the vocals like a machine gun, backed up by Chad Lovell and Michael Jerome, both on drums. Mike Graff and Paul Semrad, guitar and bass, respectively, round out Course of Empire.

All in all, a very good band with a very good CD.
